Instapundit points readers to this editorial from Kofi Anan regarding the upcoming U.N World Summit on the Information Society. The title, "The U.N. Isn't a Threat to the Net". Like Professor Reynolds, I remain uncomforted. Why? There are many reasons; the whitewashing of the Hariri assassination investigation's report, the irony of having some of the world's worst human rights offenders on the Human Rights commission, the slow response, grandstanding and credit-taking after the Tsunami in Southeast Asia while the Australian and American military did the real work, the desire to levy worldwide taxes and become an unelected world government but they can all be summed up in three words, "Oil for Food." The corruption, lack of accountability and whitewashing of the Oil for Food scandal tells you all you need to know about the U.N. and why it needs to be kept far away from the Internet. 'Nuff said!
Thanks to Stop the ACLU for the Open Trackback Party and Mudville Gazette for the Open Post. I appreaciate it.
