Barack Obama completely ignores Sarah Palin's experience as Governor of Alaska in this interview with Anderson Cooper. Rather he compare his experience running a campaign with her time as Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska. A few points about this response, excerpted here,
“My understanding is that Gov. Palin’s town, Wassilla, has I think 50 employees. We've got 2500 in this campaign. I think their budget is maybe 12 million dollars a year – we have a budget of about three times that just for the month,”First, to ignore that Governor Palin is just that, a sitting Governor, is condescending and sexist. It is a way of belittling her accomplishments. Just like his campaign's intial response to her being named the VP nominee. And good thing for Obama too. As Governor, Sarah Palin is responsible for a budget of 11.2 billion dollars and roughly 15,000 employees according to Byron York. Take that Senator! Secondly, Senator Obama is being forced to compare his experience to the Republican VP nominee and he has to fudge that to look comparable. What does that say about his experience vs. John McCain? And where was Anderson Cooper? He just ignores the fact that Obama neglected to mention Sarah Palin's experience as governor? Talk about in the tank!
