The Opinionator: 10,000 Served Worldwide

In the early hours of Sunday morning The Opinionator had our 10,000th official visitor. Or at least the 10,000th visitor since August 2005, when I added a Site Meter counter. The site had been up since 2003 but I had no accurate way of tracking visits and not counting visits from my computers.

Regardless of how one tracks the visits, I am grateful for the visitors. It is always nice to know that what you are writing is being read. A huge thanks to Charles Johnson at Little Green Footballs. He has graciously let people like me post a link on his front page. This drives a lot of visitors to this site. Once I figured it out, my visitation soared and many are now regular readers. That provides tremendous motivation to write. Once again, thanks!

The next four years promise to have a lot to write about. I look forward to having drop by and contribute. They say the first 10,000 is the hardest!
