I am back in the house! Yes it has been a while. In my defense I can only say that the end of the year is upon us, which is a major event in sales. This is especially so in the wireless game, where nearly 2/3’s of business is done in November and December. When I get done with work, I simply cannot muster the energy to blog. So, give a guy a break!
In the interim, I purchased a Rio Cali 256mb sports mp3 player. So far, it has been bulletproof. It has great sound and I can use it for both weight and aerobic workouts with separate play lists for each. You can save a bundle at Amazon.com. All you “Macolytes” out there can save your breath regarding the iPod. Yes, it is wonderful. But it is a bit heavy for working out. Additionally, iTunes is very slow on a PC and who is crazy enough to risk a $400 mp3 player at the gym around hard steel? In addition, I have found MusicMatch Downloads to be as good as iTunes and have been adding songs to my collection. Currently playing is an amazing acoustic version of Oasis’ “Wonderwall” by Ryan Adams. I have downloaded some old Charlie Sexton, The Atari’s, Iggy Pop, The Verve and others. With the exception of Iggy, I have no use for the entire albums of these artists so being able to buy a single song is a tremendous benefit. Hello record industry, this is what you should have been doing all along!
I did make some time to watch the two-part premier of the new “Battlestar Galactica” series on the Sci-Fi Network. Let me say that it rocked. Darker and more militaristic than the original, it was riveting. I cannot wait for the next episode. It is highly recommended.
More posts will be forthcoming this weekend, so to my one reader I say stay tuned!
