"Mr. Koppel,

I am outraged at your decision to exploit fallen American servicemembers for your anti-war aims. Yes, the story is that you are honoring the fallen. Bull! If that were the case, you would be reading the names of our fallen warriors in Afghanistan as well. This is a perversion of news intended to sway public opinion against our efforts in Iraq. It is transparent and more worthy of Al Jazeera. I suppose you would like thanks for undermining the servicemembers still fighting in Iraq. Well, you will not get it here!

P.S. In a parallel development, my television can no longer tune to the ABC affiliate in Raleigh-Durham or anywhere else for that matter."

Hewitt is Spot On

Hugh Hewitt is optimistic that John Kerry will not be elected president. I agree, but anything can happen. Money quote,

"I'm leaving for the weekend, convinced that there is no way John Kerry will ever be president, because a whining, waffling UNophile is not what America wants, and the media can't not cover the Democratic candidate for president, no matter how much most of it hates Bush."

Some Gave All; Pat Tillman, Good Football Player and Better Person is KIA in Afghanistan. R.I.P.

The word has come down that Pat Tillman, formerly of the Arizona Cardinals, was killed in action while serving with the 2/75 Ranger Regiment in Afghanistan. Prayers and thoughts go out from all of us here to the Tillman family, including his brother, Kevin, also serving as an Airborne Ranger.

When you push out one last pushup for the Great Ranger in the Sky, think of Pat Tillman and the other Rangers that have fallen.

Lilek's Nails It

When it comes to John Kerry's desire to kiss the UN and France's ass if he gets elected, James Lilek's is dead on in his column, "Shall We Grovel?" Money quote:

"In the same interview, Kerry repeated his constant campaign theme: his intention to drop to one knee, Jolson-style, in the United Nations General Assembly and beg for forgiveness. "Within weeks of being inaugurated, I will return to the U.N. and I will literally, formally rejoin the community of nations and turn over a proud new chapter in America's relationship with the world."

It plays to the base. The left is terribly worried about what the popular kids are saying about them in the United Nations. "We've alienated the world! For heaven's sake, we've alienated China! Oh, and Free Tibet!" The right couldn't care less, but what can you expect out of a party that would rather get married to Great Britain than have an affair with France? The undecided middle -- defined at this point as "people who aren't paying attention" -- is waiting to learn why we'd be safer trusting an organization whose response to Rwanda was to send not armies, but condolences. And even that took years. "
