Islamic terrorists have now beheaded a third prisoner, this one a South Korean working in Iraq. While appearing on Hannity and Colmes last night, Senator Zell Miller of Georgia mentioned something that is on my mind and the minds of many others; Why is it that when these captives are beheaded, it is in the news for all of a day whereas the "atrocities" at Abu Ghraib continue to be the subject of newspaper headlines, including today's USA Today? Excellent question and a stirring indictment of our media.
Of course, many of us believe that the media perseverates on Abu Ghraib because they believe that it hurts President Bush's chances of re-election whereas the beheadings remind us why it is important to be resolute in the War on Terror, which helps President Bush.
Whatever the media's reasoning, it is not good enough. They are being incredibly irresponsible. Little wonder that more people are getting their news from Fox News and the Internet. Good riddance!
