Now Where Were Those Men Anyway? Updated

Update: In today's Vent at Hot Air, Michelle Malkin asks the question I posed below on July 30th; Where were the men in Qana? It would be good to see that question asked by the MSM. Even better to see it answered.

I noticed in a CNN report on the Qana bombing that they mentioned the victms were "old men, women and children." Makes you wonder where the young/er men were. Perhaps they were outside playing Hezbollah until the press shows up at which point they became poor victimized Lebanese again, eh?

We Stand With Israel!

It has been a hectic time here at The Opinionator World HQ. However, in light of the coverage of the war between Israel and Hezbollah, especially the attack on Qana, the family and I want to make one thing very clear: We stand with Israel! There will be no going wobbly. Israel has every bit as much right to defend itself as we do in the United States or anywhere else.

And while it is tragic that civilians in Lebanon are casualties of this war, if you cannot see the moral difference between Israel targeting Hezbollah and accidentally killing civilians and the deliberate targeting of civilians by Hezbollah and Hamas you are quite simply, an idiot. There is no need to debate someone like you as you do not have the sense or the moral compass G-d or genetics gave you. Think about it. If Israel, or the US in Iraq for that matter, were deliberately targeting civilians there would not be any civilians left. Israel even warned people to leave the area before the attack. If Hezbollah had any gnads, they would climb out from behind the women and children and fight. Brave warriors, my ass! How much courage does it take to hide behind children? How much courage does it take to prevent civilians from leaving the combat zone?

The Opinionator wanted thank all of you who have stopped by recently despite the fact that I do not have many new posts in recent weeks. My new position requires a lot of travel and I have not been able to post as often as I would like. I appreciate those that continue to stop by looking for updates. Space Shuttle: 1, T-2 Missile: 0; Another Great Reason To Be American!

On Independence Day we once again showed off why it is good to be us. Today in a spectacular event we launched the Space Shuttle, a reusable space vehicle, successfully. In their bid to try to intimidate us, North Korea decided to launch their Taepodong-2 missile today as well. That did not go so well did it Kim?

So while the freedom loving people of the United States can go into space, North Korea cannot get their missile to work properly. Perhaps that is as good a reflection on the power of freedom and the results as anything else you can imagine. Anyway Kim, you might want to reflect on this for awhile before you try to mess with the big dog.

Happy 4th of July!

Every Independence Day is an incredible day in an incredible country. Some people always want to look at the downside. But, we are still a shining beacon to people around the world and I am proud and humbled to live in the United States.

We live in a small town in North Carolina; okay it used to be a small town, now it is a Raleigh bedroom community. In any event, they still decorate the 1914-vintage main street with flags and have a family celebration which includes a parade of children on their bikes. It is great to live in a place that appreciates being Americans instead of the self-loathing that we see when we visit family in Boston, New Jersey and Philadelphia. Sucks to be them. Great to be here!
