Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead!

Saddam Hussein is now taking the eternal dirt nap as he was executed at approximately 10pm this evening. Could not happen to a nicer guy. Hopefully, he will have a seat close to the fire. Maybe now some of the die-hards will see the writing on the wall. If not, let's loosen the ROE in Iraq and send them all to join him!

Christmas In Spring!

Today I am running about trying to get a few last minute gifts. The last few weeks have been nuts and have included trips to Toronto and Minneapolis-St. Paul. It is a warm and slightly muggy 70-plus degrees here in the RDU area. While I have been able to enjoy a White Christmas several times, there is something said for Spring-like temperatures as one goes about the holidays. Al Gore may have a cow over it but I am sure there are some in Denver who wish it was the case out there!

In the meantime, it is back to the search for a perfect gift for the kids. I hope your search goes better than mine! Merry Christmas!

Hopes and Prayers For Senator Tim Johnson's Full Recovery

The Opinionator Clan would like to wish a full recovery to Senator Tim Johnson who apparently has had a stroke. Mrs. Opinionator is a Physical Therapist and has specialized in the treatment of stroke patients and knows full well the challenges Senator Johnson may face. We offer our prayers and well wishes to him and his family.

May none of us succumb to the temptation to be like some on the far left and only think of these things in terms of political gain. I could care less about control of the Senate in a situation like this one. If I ever lose that perspective, I will get out of the blogging business. And Mrs. Opinionator has my full permission to slap me silly if I ever become like them.

I Wonder Why People Think They Are Americans...

The Opinionator is in Toronto traveling on business. Whenever I travel up here, I am treated to the sight of young Canadians wearing Canadian Flags on all their suitcases, backpacks, etc. Today was no exception as I followed a Canadian in his early twenties off the plane and through Customs. I have been told by the Canadians I work with up here that they adorn themselves in the Maple Leaf not so much as to proclaim their pride in being Canadian, which I would respect and understand; but to let the world know that they are not American. We have all heard a twist on this story. You know, young Americans travel the world pretending to be Canadian to avoid the shame of being identified as American.

Well I have a suggestion to my Canadian friends that want to be avoid being mistaken for the hated Americans. First, ditch the Levi's. Second, do the same with the Nikes. Ditto on the iPod and Old navy shirt. And lastly, to my new Canadian friend from today, don't wear a New York Yankees hat! These simple steps should help save our cousins to the north the shame of being identified as Americans.

A Break In The Action

It has been a few weeks since my last post. Sorry to my loyal readers and those of you passing by. As usual, the end of the year is hectic in sales and there has been some major initiatives on my plate at work as well.

That said, it looks like not much has changed. The democrats, now aided by the silly report by the Iraq Survey Group, still want us to surrender in Iraq...ramifications be damned.  I have yet to see any democrats address the aftermath of our "phase redeployment", let alone have a plan for it. These are serious times. They are not serious people.

Anyways, I will try to be more consistent through the end of the year. I look forward to our dialog.
