Rosie Runs Away

In this story, Rosie O'Donnell says that she will probably never speak with Elizabeth Hasselbeck again after their heated exchange on "The View". For a long time, she would steamroll over Ms. Hasselbeck using the old "I am louder therefore I must be right" debating technique favored by liberals. Finally, Hasselbeck responded and like all bullies when they get punched in the nose, Ms. O'Donnell is playing the victim and running away with her tail between her legs. Good riddance! There is a lesson here for conservatives as well. Let us hope that we learn from it.

Back In Action

The Opinionator has been on a bit of hiatus lately. I had lost some motivation to write as there is so much excellent commentary on the web. What could I add to what they are saying about the Tax and Surrender Democrats? However, tin checking my site stats, I realized that there are a few of you that come by every day to see if I have added a new post. That is truly flattering and inspiring. For that reason, I am going to see if I can get back in the blogging game. Thanks to those that come by day after day. I hope to make it worth your time and energy.

Scouts Do It Right!

This morning I had the distinct privilege of attending a Flag Raising by member of my son's Cub Scout Pack. They raised the flag at a local assisted living facility that was attended by virtually all of the residents. The Scouts were in their full Class A uniforms and were enthusiastic about performing this honor for the members of the greatest generation. They were respectful and took their task seriously. After the ceremony, the Scouts mingled with the residents. It made everyone's day. The pride I had for my son and his fellow Cub Scouts knows no bounds. The Scouts do it right!

Memorial Day 2007

Today is the day we mourn and honor those that have fallen for our country, our citizens and freedoms. Some say war never solves anything. I disagree. As terrible as war is, sometimes it is necessary. Good intentions did not free slaves in this country. Nor did kind words free the Jews in Hitler's death camps or liberate Afghans from the tyranny of the Taliban.  The examples are almost endless. We as a nation exist because men and women have been willing to risk their lives on our behalf. For those that sacrificed all, today is your day. My family and I can only offer our humble thanks to them and their families and try to live lives worthy of their sacrifice.

Know Your Friends

The Wall Street Journal today runs an editorial about two hostages held by Iran. One is from the Wilson Center at Princeton University the other for a George Soros backed institute. Both places have been very critical of the Bush administration. While hoping for the immediate release of both hostages, perhaps this will remind both organizations of who their real friends are and who is the real enemy.

Tax And Surrender Democrats Suffer Setback

The President vetoed the Declaration of Surrender passed by the Tax and Surrender Democrats in Congress tonight. Hopefully we can now get back to the business of defending our country and supporting our troops, not stabbing them in the back.
