Memorial Day 2007

Today is the day we mourn and honor those that have fallen for our country, our citizens and freedoms. Some say war never solves anything. I disagree. As terrible as war is, sometimes it is necessary. Good intentions did not free slaves in this country. Nor did kind words free the Jews in Hitler's death camps or liberate Afghans from the tyranny of the Taliban.  The examples are almost endless. We as a nation exist because men and women have been willing to risk their lives on our behalf. For those that sacrificed all, today is your day. My family and I can only offer our humble thanks to them and their families and try to live lives worthy of their sacrifice.
