This Casts Doubt On Obama's Commitment To Israel

Samantha Power has been brought back to the Obama team to assist with the transition. She resigned from the campaign for calling Hillary Clinton a monster. However the more important issue has been Power's anti-Israel stance on middle east issues. This is a troubling development. Israel and her supporters should be concerned.

Michelle Malkin points us to yet another column by David Brooks in which he fellates Obama and his administration. My gag reflex is in full effect so I will not reproduce what he wrote. Head to Michelle's place to read more of this drivel. He is clearly the left's "House Conservative."

My brother in law, an automotive technician with a high school diploma who owns his own shop, has likely created more REAL wealth and jobs that any of these over-educated stuffed shirts.

One Reason Starbucks Is Floundering.......

.....Dirty stores as the staff rarely comes out from behind the counter to clean up. As a customer I am not impressed by dirty stores and tables. As a shareholder, I am pissed off. Picture taken at Starbucks on Evans Road in Cary, NC about 4pm. There were no customers in line to occupy the staff. The table next to it is covered in crumbs as well. I sent them a Twitter about it in the past. I was referred to a phone number. Guess they only use modern tools for marketing. Cross-posted at Giving You The Business.

Thank you to all who served this country. Especially those who served in time of war. A special thank you to my father, a twenty year navy veteran with two Vietnam tours, and my brother, a serving naval officer who is a veteran of Afghanistan. I also do not want to ignore my classmates from the Lake Hamilton Class of 1983 who served in Iraq. Thanks guys!

What protests were raised in the party or mainstream media when John Edwards, with vastly less political experience than Palin, got John Kerry's nod for veep four years ago?

The Opinionator: 10,000 Served Worldwide

In the early hours of Sunday morning The Opinionator had our 10,000th official visitor. Or at least the 10,000th visitor since August 2005, when I added a Site Meter counter. The site had been up since 2003 but I had no accurate way of tracking visits and not counting visits from my computers.

Regardless of how one tracks the visits, I am grateful for the visitors. It is always nice to know that what you are writing is being read. A huge thanks to Charles Johnson at Little Green Footballs. He has graciously let people like me post a link on his front page. This drives a lot of visitors to this site. Once I figured it out, my visitation soared and many are now regular readers. That provides tremendous motivation to write. Once again, thanks!

The next four years promise to have a lot to write about. I look forward to having drop by and contribute. They say the first 10,000 is the hardest!

The Keyboard Maquis

According to Wikipedia,

The Maquis were the predominantly rural guerrilla bands of the French Resistance. Initially they were composed of men who had escaped into the mountains to avoid conscription into Vichy France's Service du travail obligatoire (STO) to provide forced labour for Germany. In an effort to escape capture and deportation to Germany, what had started as loose groups of individuals became increasingly organized; initially fighting only to remain free, these bands eventually became active resistance groups.

Conservative bloggers can become something similar in the blogosphere, a loose group of indivduals that become organized and provide resistance to the worst of the ideas coming from Pelosi, Reid and Obama while spreading the ideals of low taxes, smaller government and strong defense. You can join groups like The Conservative Underground on Facebook or start your own. In either case we can bring the change we want to see take place. We can be the Keyboard Maquis.
