The Politics of Envy

In reading the reactions of the Left to the Debt Deal, it is clear that they are furious about the lack of a tax increase. It is equally clear that they do not care about the detrimental effect this would have on the economy, they want tax increases to punish the rich. Or as one person I know continually refers to them, the "filthy rich". This is all about envy. President Obama has fanned the flames of class envy and this is the result. Ironically, he may be the one getting burned.
